Every year, Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) opens public swimming pools in Seoul that anyone can enjoy under $5. The pools only operates during summer season and in this post, you'll find out the operating date and hours, tips and the right swimming pool that is nearby your location. 


Operating period and time?

Date: From June 20, 2024 to August 18, 2024 (60 days) 

- Time: 9am - 6pm

- Note: The swimming pool is temporarily closed during lunch time (12~12:40pm) 


What is the location? 

- Ttukseom hangang park: 112, Jayang-ro, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, Korea 

- Jamwon hangang park: 145-57, Janwon-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul, Korea 

- Yeouido hangang park: 82-9, Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, Korea 

- Jamsil swimming playground: 65, Hangaram-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul, Korea 

- Yanghwa swimming playground: 99, Nodeul-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, Korea 

- Nanji swimming playground: 162, Hangangnanji-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, Korea 




How much does it cost? 

1). Hangang park (Ttukseom, Jamwon, Yeouido): 

- Adults (above 19 yrs old): KRW 5,000

- Youth (13~18 yrs old): KRW 4,000 

- Children (6~12 yrs old): KRW 3,000 

- Children under 6 are free for admission. 


2). Swimming playground (Jamsil, Yanghwa, Nandi): 

- Adults (above 19 yrs old): KRW 3,000

- Youth (13~18 yrs old): KRW 2,000 

- Children (6~12 yrs old): KRW 1,000 

- Children under 6 are free for admission. 


How to purchase a ticket?

- Visitors can purchase tickets a the ticket office (no booking nor on-line purchase is available). 

- There is no discounts for parking with the swimming ticket. 


Clothing restrictions? 

1). Hangang swimming pool: 

A swimsuit and swimming cap should be worn when swimming at the swimming pool at a public pool. (But, some hangang swimming pool may allow visitors to use the pool in T-shirts or shorts, but visitors are recommended to bring the swimsuit to the pool). 

2). Swimming playground: 

A swimsuit and swimming cap is not mandatory. Visitors can wear their T-shirts and shorts when using the swimming playground. 


Parking fee: 

The parking fee at the hangang park is KRW 1,000 / 30mins and additional KRW 200 will be added per 10 mins after that. 


Tips for using public swimming pool in Seoul: 

 - Visitors can bring their own food and snacks (no alcohol is allowed)

-  Swimfin and snorkel are not allowed to be brought in

- 1 free parasol is available for 4 people (but no beach mat or picnic blanket is provided)

- Visitors should bring their own beach mat, picnic blanket and towels
